Core Capabilities & SWOT

An assessment of the client's core organisational capabilities, with a SWOT.

Known capabilities go in and a capability SWOT comes out.

What goes in
  • Client / Company Name
  • Known Capabilities
  • Data Assets
  • Strategic Capability Needs
  • Approved outputs of Portfolio & Business Models and Review Existing Strategies (optional)
What you get
  • Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
  • A SWOT cross-analysis
  • Strategic priorities
How it works

Four steps from start to finish.

  1. 1Fill in the input form

Complete the fields: Client / Company Name; Known Capabilities; Data Assets; Strategic Capability Needs.

  2. 2Choose upstream context

Tick which approved outputs to include as context: Portfolio & Business Models and Review Existing Strategies. Anything not approved is simply left out.

  3. 3Review the streamed output

The draft streams in as you watch. Read it, add comments for the team and edit the text. Regenerate it with feedback if it needs another pass.

  4. 4Approve the result

An approved output becomes available as context for Resource & Asset Inventory, Innovation Maturity, Change Resistance & Culture and SWOT Analysis, and it appears on the Summary page.

Teams often name capabilities without testing them against what the strategy will need.

What {{product.name}} does with it

The tool takes the capabilities and data assets you already know and the capabilities the strategy will need. It drafts strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, a cross-analysis and the strategic priorities that follow.
