SWOT Analysis

A SWOT that sets the client's internal capability against the external landscape.

Approved external and internal outputs go in and a SWOT comes out.

What goes in
  • Client / Company Name
  • Industry
  • Strategic Context
  • Known Strengths / Weaknesses / Signals
  • Approved outputs of STEMPLE Analysis, Porter's Five Forces, Market Evaluation, Key Competitors Analysis, Core Capabilities & SWOT and Resource & Asset Inventory (optional)
What you get
  • Four to six strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, each with evidence
  • A TOWS cross-analysis with the top three strategic moves
  • A bottom line, led by the main finding
How it works

Four steps from start to finish.

  1. 1Fill in the input form

Complete the fields: Client / Company Name; Industry; Strategic Context; Known Strengths / Weaknesses / Signals.

  2. 2Choose upstream context

Tick which approved outputs to include as context: STEMPLE Analysis, Porter's Five Forces, Market Evaluation, Key Competitors Analysis, Core Capabilities & SWOT and Resource & Asset Inventory. Anything not approved is simply left out.

  3. 3Review the streamed output

The draft streams in as you watch. Read it, add comments for the team and edit the text. Regenerate it with feedback if it needs another pass.

  4. 4Approve the result

An approved output becomes available as context for Transformation Programs, and it appears on the Summary page.

The external and internal analyses only help once someone has put them side by side.

What {{product.name}} does with it

The tool takes the strategic context and any signals you want to add. It can load up to six approved outputs as context: STEMPLE, Five Forces, Market Evaluation, Key Competitors, Core Capabilities and the Resource Inventory. It drafts strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, a TOWS cross-analysis and a bottom line.
